The Enugu Government has again quickly debunked the fake news circulating in social media about a purported call made by Gov. Ugwuanyi to the President in the heat of the 2016 Nimbo crisis during which several people were killed by suspected herdsmen.
His media team and several friends have come out to debunk the rehashed social media report which had previously trended in 2016.

In that year, in the aftermath of the Nimbo crisis, Gov. Ugwuanyi had paid a visit to Aso Rock Abuja, and after meeting with President Buhari, he was interviewed live on TV and debunked the fabricated story.

With the recent rehash of the fake story, the Gov’s media team has rightly released again a clip of the 2016 video where the governor affirmed that the story was false.

In the reissued video clip released Tuesday, Gov. Ugwuanyi said that at no time did he call the President or anyone in the presidency.

DiscoverEnugu brings to you the video clip below.

The dangers of fake news and news manipulation have become more prominent as Nigerian society suffers from high levels of insecurity across the entire nation.

We must all act responsibly in sharing verified information.
